Our growing ordinary shambles family hosted it's second Ordinary Shambles on 10/25/11. As always, the songs below were written by those in attendance. Hey Ordinay Shamblers,
Last night's session blessed me beyond belief. I bet what we experienced was something similar to heaven (except in my version of heaven there will be a bass guitar and Sean will have his electric guitar :)

I've already started to mix and master the recordings and had an odd experience while listening to the freedom with which we worshiped our creator. I started crying. Not the sort of crying that occurs because there is no bass guitar, but the sort of crying that occurs because what I heard was utterly beautiful and pure and I am sure it was pleasing to our God.

You are such an amazing community of musicians, singers and songwriters to be a part of and I am thankful for our growing family.

Hey Ordinary Shamblers,
First things first - Our next ordinary shambles is officially slotted for Tuesday, October 25th at 7pm at 7410 Clinton Ave, Richfield MN 55423 (my house).

The rules for invitations are simple. If you know someone who is passionate about singing to their creator, they'll fit right in with the rest of us. Invite them to come along for the journey!

Also, I just wanted to say thanks for a really fantastic "practice time" that ended up being much more like a full-blown sing to Jesus session than a practice. You guys amaze me and I'm am extremely pumped for our upcoming session!

The nudge

At the June 30 ordinary shambles, folks talked a lot about getting a "nudge," meaning they felt God was asking them to say/sing something. I thought this term was pretty sweet and I've begun using it in my every day life.

This past weekend, I hung out with my family in Duluth and told my dad, who is a pastor, about the "nudge." He thought this was a super-cool idea. On Sunday, he preached a sermon called "The Nudge" and asked me to share about Ordinary Shambles. His congregation was really into hearing about all the stuff God did during our session. Afterwards, the worship team began to do some spontaneous stuff, much like what occurred during the Ordinary Shambles session.

That same day, my brother told me that he posted a discussion about the "nudge" on his discussion board at Bethel (where he is getting his masters in divinity). I'm excited to hear what comes of this discussion.

All this to say, I don't know where God is taking us ordinary shamblers, but this one evening is already having an impact on our state in some cool ways.
